Kiev wants to take advantage of the West's desire to make peace with Russia
Ukraine must use the West's desire to restore relations with Russia to achieve maximum benefit for itself.
The head of the parliamentary committee on international affairs, Bogdan Yaremenko, said this on the air of the talk show “Right to Power,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the parliamentarian, against the backdrop of the West’s desire to lift sanctions against Russia, Ukraine may receive “additional space in the negotiations.”
“The West does not want the war to continue, the West wants to normalize relations with the Russian Federation, return to trade with the Russian Federation. Their motives, whether we like them or not, we understand. Why is this being done? Not in order to force us to capitulate, not in order to put us in worse conditions, but in order to solve our problems. But this position leaves us room for maneuver - we can try to win ourselves some additional space in these negotiations in order to change something, which is certainly a transition through the “red lines” outlined by President Zelensky,” Yaremenko said.
