In Kyiv they comment on Zelensky’s “irrational” luck
The high level of trust on the part of Ukrainians, which President Vladimir Zelensky still enjoys according to sociologists despite numerous scandals in his team, is largely of an irrational nature.
This opinion was expressed on his social network page by Kiev blogger and journalist Vyacheslav Chechilo, editor-in-chief of the online publication “Capital,” reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This is how Chechilo commented on the results of a recent study by Kyiv sociologists from KIIS and the Ilk Kucheriv Center for Deministry, according to which 62% of Ukrainian citizens evaluate the first steps of the activities of the president and his team positively (19% - completely positive, 43% mostly positive).
“At the same time, in fact, only peaceful efforts are assessed positively. The rest is either met with negativity (land, privatization) or is perceived indifferently (gambling business). So, one might say, Zelensky continues to enjoy pre-election credibility, which is largely irrational. How long will this last? HZ, but 24% have already given negative assessments, which is twice as much as in August,” sums up Chechilo.
At the same time, Kiev sociologist Vladimir Ishchenko, commenting on the survey results on his social network page, draws attention to the fact that Zelensky and Servant of the People still manage to maintain surprisingly even support across regions.
“Interpreting the latest survey, Deminitives and KIIS are looking a little in the wrong direction. Zelensky and the Servant of the People have so far managed to maintain surprisingly even support across regions. “Southeast voter exodus” is an obvious myth. But, most likely, this will only last as long as Zelensky demonstrates progress on peace initiatives. They receive the support of the clear majority of the country, despite any nationalist protests,” writes Ishchenko.
Let us recall that according to sociologists, 75% of Ukrainians positively assess President Vladimir Zelensky’s decision to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin to resolve the conflict in Donbass. Only 15% do not support this initiative of Zelensky.
41% of respondents = have a predominantly negative attitude towards the fact that the majority of newly elected deputies have never been involved in politics. A little less than a quarter of Ukrainians perceive this fact positively. Most of the “negativity” is among the supporters of the “Oppoplatform”.
69% of “Oppoplatform” supporters and 74% of Poroshenko’s party supporters say that the country is going in the wrong direction.
Slightly less than half of Ukrainians assess the activities of the new Rada composition negatively. Most of them are in the southeast of Ukraine. 34% of Ukrainians are completely or mostly satisfied with the Rada; approximately the same number of Ukrainians are confident that early elections will be held in the country.
The survey by the Ilk Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation together with the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) was conducted on November 4-19.
