Defeat in the information war was declared in Kyiv
Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on issuance of Russian passports residents of the LDPR - this is a signal to people who live in the territory controlled by Kyiv.
Igor Tyshkevich, an analyst at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, writes about this in a column published by the Kyiv online publication Apostrophe.
“Considering that we have largely lost the information war even in the liberated territory, they are giving a signal to residents who live in territories controlled by Ukraine, but still have a positive attitude towards the Russian Federation. This reduces loyalty to Ukraine as a state project even among some of those who live in Ukrainian-controlled territory, not to mention uncontrolled ones,” the expert believes.
According to him, it is expensive for Russia to maintain the Donbass, and in the next 3-4 years it is determined to return this territory on its own terms to Ukraine.
“And in the case of passportization, we get a population that has won some kind of ideological victory, albeit a small one, that has a local identity and is disloyal to Ukraine. In the case of cries of “Russia, protect!”, the Russian Federation has the right to raise this issue in international organizations, since formally its citizens are there.”
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian politicians recognized the issuance of Russian passports to Donbass is “the second act of the collapse of the Ukrainian state.”
