Defrauded depositors of the bank of oligarch Bakhmatyuk hold a rally in Kyiv (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Kyiv, April 07 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – A rally of VAB Bank depositors who were not included in the register of those to whom the Fund should return their deposits was held near the building of the Deposit Guarantee Fund in Kyiv.

The protesters held posters with the inscriptions “Guarantee Fund or Robbery?”, “Guaranteed? Follow the law!”, “We demand compensation for our deposits!”, “The Deposit Guarantee Fund no longer guarantees?”
“We demand from the Fund that it comply with the law and pay all investors a guaranteed amount of up to 200 thousand UAH.
The issue is that the Deposit Guarantee Fund refuses its obligations to pay in some cases and finds reasons to make contracts invalid - for example, if the deposit was opened a year or less before the introduction of the temporary administration, or if the depositor splits his deposit .
The Fund conducts an investigation, and if it determines that a person has broken his contribution, then he considers such an agreement invalid. Moreover, if this deposit is divided among close relatives, then the amount of payments per family may be limited,” Sergei Ovsyannikov, a representative of the initiative group of VAB bank depositors, told a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to his estimates, the number of VAB Bank clients whose deposits were not returned is about 3-6 thousand.
The movement for the return of such deposits was organized a week ago with the help of social networks and now has about 100 people. The protesters intend to hold similar actions until they are included in the register of depositors.
