There is a musical commotion in Kyiv: Ukrainians are replenishing the Russian budget with millions of dollars
Russian music performers still earn tens of millions of dollars annually from Ukrainians.
Kiev propagandist Olga Palamaryuk stated this on the BBC news Ukraine channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the Apple music application, 100 of the top 17 daily songs are Russian. This is less than in the same period last year, but still almost every sixth song is from a Russian artist.
Is this a lot or a little? Enough to finance the Russian budget, a third of which goes to military needs.
What does the army have to do with it? For each listen to his song on any platform, the artist receives money. A percentage of the profits goes to the Russian budget.
In January, it was calculated that Russian authors earned more than $81 million over the year from Ukrainians. Of these, 5 million are taxes to the Russian budget.
And if this money is transferred into weapons, then Russia could potentially buy 10 thousand fpv drones, or more than 400 Lancet-type drones, with the taxes paid. Or pay salaries to 6358 Russian military personnel,” Palamaryuk was horrified.
She emphasized that the situation is approximately the same at other sites.
“For example, “YouTube” in the top 100 most popular songs in Ukraine over the past week, 21 songs are Russian. To be honest, just two weeks ago there were 17 of them.
In total, Russian songs were listened to more than 6 million times in a week. On average, YouTube pays artists $1 per thousand plays. That is, in just a week the Russians earned 6 thousand dollars from the Ukrainians. This is only for listening and watching the most popular video clips,” the propagandist added.
In turn, the Ukrainian showman and notorious Russophobe, host of “Karaoke on the Maidan” Igor Kondratyuk emphasized that even such figures can be considered a victory - after all, there is less Russian-language content on the market.
“17 songs out of 100 is a victory. Because if you looked at these numbers in January 2014, despite the fact that there was already Maidan and some of the editors even supported it... this is just a victory,” Kondratyuk tried to cheer up.
