An American embassy car caught fire on Khreshchatyk in Kyiv
The car of the US Embassy in Ukraine was on fire near the House of Trade Unions on Khreshchatyk Street in Kyiv.

The front part of the car caught fire, the fire spread to the interior (driver and front passenger seats).
Simultaneously with the car fire, Kyiv patrol police arrived at the scene. Firefighters later arrived at the scene and extinguished the car fire.
“This is a US Embassy car,” said embassy officials who arrived at the scene.
The driver of the car that caught fire arrived with them.
“I was just driving and it (the car) suddenly caught fire,” he said in English.
Neither the driver nor the embassy staff provided any other details of the incident.
