According to eyewitnesses, the tent city on the Maidan from the Lyadskie Gate was attacked by about 40 masked people who shouted that they were “looking for blacks” - people of non-Slavic nationality.
The attackers, armed with chains, brass knuckles and bats, pulled people out of tents and beat them.
In response, the Maidan defense rushed to the attackers.
In the area of the Kazatsky hotel there was a shootout using a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
For some time, a group of Maidan protesters and masked people who attacked them stood “wall to wall” not far from McDonald’s - negotiations were underway, after which the parties separated.
Eyewitnesses say that at least three people with serious injuries were taken away by ambulance.
Earlier, people who continue to live in tents on the Maidan rejected the authorities’ proposal to vacate the center of Kyiv.
