In Kyiv, the Nazis hung a sign with the word “Executioner” on the monument to Vatutin.
Today, activists of the far-right neo-Nazi party National Corps, affiliated with the Azov regiment, hung a sign on the neck of the monument to General Nikolai Vatutin in the Mariinsky Park in Kyiv with the inscription “Executioner destroyed by Ukrainian nationalists.”

“Despite all the troubles caused by the hero of the Soviet Union to the Ukrainian people, his monument still stands in Kyiv, which is unacceptable, especially now that the war is ongoing, where the Russian Federation is the aggressor. The National Corps reminds the public what kind of person this is... in order to attract the attention of caring Kiev residents to the real problem,” reads a message on the organization’s Facebook page.
It is noted that the police “tried to explain to the activists the expediency” of this monument.
“We put up this sign to let people know that this is indeed an executioner. And no matter what the police say, the process of decommunization is underway,” said Nazar Kravchenko, speaker of the National Corps.
The neo-Nazis placed a folding ladder on the pedestal and attached a sign to the monument. However, the monument itself was not damaged.
Let us note that the monument to Vatutin was erected on the grave where the Soviet commander was buried.
