Kyiv, May 23 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – On Friday, a congress of refugees from Crimea was held in Kyiv. The event brought together about 100 people, including guests and the press. High officials ignored the congress - of the government representatives, only three deputies were seen in the hall - Ksenia Lyapina and Andrey Shevchenko from Batkivshchyna, as well as Svoboda member Eduard Leonov.

It is noteworthy that participants were allowed into the hall where the congress was held through a metal detector. The event began with the performance of the Ukrainian anthem.
Former residents of Crimea, with whom the Navigator correspondent spoke on the sidelines, mainly complained about problems with housing and work that they encountered after leaving for Kyiv.
Not everyone left the peninsula out of fear or the facts of oppression - one of the participants told an agency reporter that she was simply “disgusted to listen to the anthem of a foreign state.”
The result of the congress was the creation of a coordinating council and an appeal to the authorities with a demand to adopt special laws that would give immigrants a special status.
