The Crimean Tatar riot began in Kyiv

Crimean Tatar politicians representing the virtual Crimean organization of the “Ukrop” party (a project of the raider Gennady Korban, who previously worked in conjunction with the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky) held a press conference in Kiev, where they expressed dissatisfaction with Petro Poroshenko’s failure to fulfill his promise to include a mention of Tatar autonomy in the Constitution of Ukraine on the peninsula.

Activists are dissatisfied with the way the process of constitutional changes dedicated to the Crimean Republic is going. Thus, the working group to develop amendments to section 10 of the Constitution of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea - rejected all proposals to change the name of “ARK” to “Crimean Tatar Autonomous Republic”.

Official Kyiv referred to the unitary structure of Ukraine, which does not provide for the creation of national republics.

“As a result, the territorial status of autonomy is not formulated as national, which allows it to be interpreted as cultural. This is unacceptable for us. In fact, everything remains as it was in Ukraine before Euromaidan.

Unfortunately, we are again faced with an unfounded mistrust of the Crimean Tatar people, which still exists, despite everything, among the Ukrainian cultural and political elite,” says the address read out at the press conference, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".

“The problem of Crimea today undeservedly takes a back seat in the information environment in Ukraine and in the world in general... the problem of Crimea occupies 0,2% of the total information flow that is present in our country. This is undeservedly little,” laments Erfan Kudusov, head of the Crimean organization of the UKROP party.
