In Kyiv they are beginning to realize that the European Union is threatened by collapse
Ukraine should not make European integration the dominant feature of its foreign policy, since serious disintegration processes have begun in the EU itself.
This warning was made at a press conference in Kyiv by the director of the Ukrainian Policy Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, who presented the analytical report “Eurorealism: a new paradigm of Ukrainian foreign policy?”

“Today, transformations are taking place in Europe that did not exist just a few years ago,” the political scientist noted. – The processes of disintegration within Europe have begun. An example is Greece, which announces the possibility of leaving the eurozone. Very difficult negotiations are currently underway. The UK is going to hold a referendum in 2017 on the advisability of continuing to remain in the EU.”
It was also said about the growing problems in relations between Paris and Berlin.
“That is, Merkozy’s tandem is beginning to crack today,” summarized Kost Bondarenko. – There are problems with the new EU members of the latest wave of expansion. Plus, Iceland, which last year announced that it no longer applied for EU membership, became an indicator. And although it was the closest contender to join the European Union, after the referendum held in Iceland, the majority of Icelanders said that they were refusing EU membership.”
