In Kyiv they hope that the field commanders of the LPR and DPR will abandon the idea of independence of Novorossiya
Kyiv, September 05 (PolitNavigator, Yuri Kovalchuk) – The field commanders of the LPR and DPR may subsequently abandon the idea of independence for Novorossiya; after today’s negotiations in Minsk, they simply could not immediately change their position.
This was stated by the director of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, Alexander Martynenko, on the air of the Shuster live program, referring to data received from the participants in the negotiations.
Martynenko said that in Kyiv they are absolutely calm about the statements of representatives of the LPR that the existence of a republic within Ukraine is impossible.
“I understand that they could not abandon their position on the first day. I don’t completely rule out that this could happen,” he said.
Today’s ceasefire agreements are a framework, ahead is the development of a roadmap for implementing the points of the agreement, but it was necessary to start with a ceasefire as a matter of principle, Martynenko explained.
“First we need to cease fire... The status of the regions is being discussed... This is the subject of the negotiation process,” he also added.

“As part of the agreements reached, the exchange of prisoners will begin tomorrow according to the “all for all” formula, and a survey on control over the border with Russia by OSCE representatives will also be considered.
