Ukraine does not demonstrate the slightest willingness to lower the degree of tension on the demarcation line in Donbass.
Rodion Miroshnik, adviser to the head of the LPR and representative of the republic at the negotiations in Minsk, stated this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He said that since the beginning of May, as a result of Ukrainian shelling, “an unprecedented number of people have suffered,” after which the republics took retaliatory actions.
“Kyiv is starting to manipulate demands - to cancel the ceasefire, and then maybe we’ll start agreeing on something. But ultimatums are not acceptable. They do not lead to achieving peace. For now, it is obvious that Ukraine does not have the slightest desire to reduce the level of tension. They are not afraid of armed escalation. They probably think that it’s a long way from Donetsk to Kyiv - and they will have time to run to Brussels shouting “The Russians are coming!”, the diplomat said.
He also says that the Ukrainian soldiers who died in the Donbass do not matter to Kyiv.
“The feeling is that this is, I repeat, a consumable material for them - to raise the level of tension. Kyiv was given this kind of “request” - and they are fulfilling it. And with their dead soldiers they are inflaming the situation,” says Miroshnik.
