About this on his Facebook page сообщил Kiev resident Denis Gabdrakhimov.

“What did Kostya Egunov do to prevent them? – the user asks. – Konstantin Egunov is a Kiev resident who, during the years of Nazi occupation, created an underground organization that actively fought for the liberation of the city. He was shot at Babi Yar in 1942 along with other members of the underground. The guy was 19 years old. In addition, the Nazis killed his mother and sister. In 1975, a memorial plaque was installed in his honor on the facade of school No. 101, from which Egunov graduated. I had to walk the road to 8 Copernicus Street for up tojust 7 years. You could often see fresh flowers near the memorial plaque (let me clarify – this was already the 90s). In addition, at school lines, students laid flowers in a solemn ceremony in memory of Konstantin Egunov.”

“But just last week, walking past my alma-foolmother, I discovered an empty façade, neatly covered with gray alabaster, in place of the memorial plaque,” Gabdrakhimov points out. – Of course, I don’t want to make hasty conclusions and throw shit at anyone. The school administration did not give me a clear answer, advising me to call back in a few days. But a bad aftertaste still remained: Kostya Egunov was not a representative of the bureaucratic machine, a careerist or an armchair general. Why did they treat him like that?”
