The tender announced by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine for the purchase of an elite armored car from the Ukrainian company was explained by the desire to defeat Gazprom in the Stockholm arbitration.

“It is worth noting that Ukraine has its own views on how to defeat Gazprom in the Stockholm court,” the newspaper writes. – As the press service of Naftogaz stated, the company announced a tender for the purchase of an armored Mercedes Benz S600 GUARD at a price of about 5 million hryvnia or about 13,5 million rubles. This purchase is necessary for the head of Naftogaz, Andrey Kobolev, in order to minimize the risks associated with litigation with Gazprom in Stockholm.”
“The basis for such a decision is standard business logic, similar in essence to purchasing an insurance policy: it is better to spend a small percentage now and minimize the risk of losing the asset (all or a significant part) in the future. The asset is the potential benefit from winning in the Stockholm arbitration,” the publication quotes the Naftogaz press service.
