In Kyiv they insist: Crimeans never had and never will have any right to self-determination
Kyiv, August 11 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) - Natalya Belitser, an expert at the Pylyp Orlyk Institute of Democracy, believes that the Crimean Tatar people have the right to self-determination, but the “Crimeans”, “Donetsk” and “Lugansk” do not.
She said this while speaking at a press conference “Crimean Tatars are the indigenous people of Crimea/Ukraine.”

Belitser criticized the term “Crimeans”.
“The definition of the Crimean Tatars as a subject of the right to self-determination in the context of the declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples, approved at the UN General Assembly in 2007, removes a whole series of manipulations and speculations. Including using the term “Crimeans”. Let's clarify. “Crimeans” is a term that can only be used as a synonym for the terms “population of Crimea”, “residents of Crimea”. This is the same as the “Donetsk people” or “Lugansk people”, who also on April 7 allowed themselves to recognize the right to self-determination as the people of the Donetsk or Lugansk region. It’s clear where this is going,” she said.
