Kyiv is preparing for large-scale falsifications
Fraud in the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine will be massive and systemic.
Konstantin Matvienko, an expert at the Gardarika strategic consulting corporation, stated this today at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The authorities are preparing for massive and very systemic falsifications. This will be a very high-tech innovative falsification. Recently, a digital network of voter bribery was exposed when a person was given an IT card. It will be recorded on voting day through photos of ballots. The starting payment on such a card is 500 UAH. From the point of view of the law, it will be difficult to prove that this is bribery,” Matvienko said.
The director of the Ukrainian Barometer sociological service, Viktor Nebozhenko, believes that falsifications will occur primarily in those areas in which martial law was declared at the end of last year.
“We sociologists are faced with new difficulties in those areas where there was martial law. I conclude that based on the results of the first round there will be the most cases of falsification. It is there that networks operate tightly, where we encounter foremen,” Nebozhenko said.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev, on the contrary, believes that falsifications will occur in the west of the country, from where a huge number of people have left to work in Europe.
“This is the first time we are conducting such a campaign when 7 million people are abroad. We have closed consular stations in the Russian Federation, but have we expanded them in Poland? The second round will take place between the two Easters. Catholics will already leave, but Orthodox Christians will not arrive yet,” Karasev said.
