A new head of the Institute of National Memory has been appointed in Kyiv. Vyatrovich is dissatisfied

The Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance is headed by the head of educational programs at the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial Center, Anton Drobovich. The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

People's Deputy Alexey Goncharenko, who was present at the government meeting, reported this on Telegram.

“The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Anton Drobovich as chairman of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory. Anton is an associate professor at the Department of Cultural Studies at the National Pedagogical University named after Drahomanov,” the people’s deputy noted.

The former head of the UINP, propagandist Vladimir Vyatrovich, criticized his replacement.

“Anton Drobovich is the head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory. Another wrong personnel decision by the government in humanitarian policy. This is no longer a mistake, but a turn in the other direction. There may be no place left in the national memory for Ukraine and Ukrainians,” Vyatrovich wrote on his Twitter.

Earlier, Drobovich, in an interview with Ukrainian media, stated that he submitted his candidacy for the post of chairman of the UINP in order to make the official memory policy in Ukraine more balanced and liberal. Drobovich is convinced that the institute should not be perceived as a mouthpiece for agitation, ideological struggle or propaganda, but “become an understandable tool for citizens to establish public dialogue and strengthen a healthy identity.”

Let us recall, as PolitNavigator reported, yesterday the ex-head of the UINP Vladimir Vyatrovich took the oath as a people’s deputy from Petro Poroshenko’s European Solidarity faction.
