In Kyiv, the United States was called the main demilitarizer of Ukraine
All statements by the American leadership against the ruling regime in Russia are just words that have nothing to do with the official position of Washington.
The ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Valery Chaly, said this on air on the Apostrophe channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was said by Biden that such a regime should not exist, especially after an act of genocide and war crimes, but the official position of the United States is that they will not work for regime change. Whether we like it or not, the US position is such that they are not seeking regime change right now. But they are seeking to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine. But I believe that this position of a strategic partner is very important for us at this stage,” Chaly reasoned.
However, he added that it was the Americans who launched the demilitarization of Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, everyone made a big mistake, first of all the United States, I will say an unpopular thing, one of the major contributions to the demilitarization of Ukraine was made by the United States. After the collapse of the USSR, when they put pressure on us to give up not only nuclear weapons, but also carriers - strategic bombers, which are now really bombing us,” the ex-ambassador complained.
