In Kyiv they do not believe that Zelensky will listen to a graduate of the FSB Academy in the National Security and Defense Council
It is unlikely that after the appointment of the former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Alexander Litvinenko, to the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, anything will qualitatively change in the country.
The executive director of the Kyiv Center for Applied Political Research "Penta" Alexander Leonov said this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Alexander Litvinenko is an analyst, he understands a lot of things, but the question is how much will they listen to him. Because Zaluzhny wrote in The Economist almost in the middle of last year that Ukraine needs to build fortifications, dig into the ground, and so on, but no one listened to him. Moreover, he began to have a conflict.
And so it is important here that if he is to provide this strategic direction, he is at least listened to. Because without this, it will simply be technical work in preparation for NSDC meetings. And in war conditions, the National Security and Defense Council should become both an analytical center and, to a large extent, an organizational center for the military-industrial complex, the construction of fortifications, and so on,” Leonov said.
In addition, he noted that Litvinenko is a member of the same Zelensky team.
“If the policy continues where people are appointed but do not influence decision-making, it will be a different story. Because we can definitely talk about strengthening when professionals are brought in from outside, from other groups. But for now we see a rotation,” the political scientist emphasized.
Let us recall that in 1994 Litvinenko graduated from the Academy of the Federal Security Service of Russia.
