Kyiv is unhappy with Volcker's statement and complains that pressure on Ukraine is increasing
The statement by US State Department Special Representative Kurt Volker, who called on Kyiv not to submit an alternative to the Russian draft UN resolution on peacekeepers, caused alarm in Ukraine, writes Nezavisimaya Gazeta.

The publication cites the opinion of a Ukrainian expert, director of the Center for Military Legal Studies, Alexander Musienko, who also noted that Volker also said that Russia has the opportunity to freeze the conflict in Donbass for a long time, and this is not in the interests of Ukraine.
“The American side makes it clear that it is better to solve everything without a peacekeeping mission, but even if it comes to that, they will take the Russian draft resolution as a basis and negotiate. And if they come up with the option of deploying a mission throughout the temporarily occupied territory in eastern Ukraine, then, for example, without control over the Ukrainian-Russian border. Thus, pressure on Ukraine regarding the implementation of the Minsk agreements will only increase,” Musienko laments.
