In Kyiv, unknown persons set fire to a monument to Ukrainian nationalists
Tonight in Kyiv, in Babi Yar, a memorial plaque and cross, installed by the head of the unrecognized UOC-KP Filaret and Viktor Yushchenko in memory of Ukrainian nationalists, were doused with paint and resin, and then set on fire.
After the Orange Revolution, the authorities specifically erected this monument at the site where tens of thousands of people were exterminated. It is known from history that the executions at Babi Yar were carried out by Bandera’s followers under the command of the Germans. However, under Yushchenko, a version began to be actively promoted that Ukrainian nationalists only at the very beginning of the war hoped for the help of the Nazis in creating an independent country, and then they themselves came under repression.

The arson of a monument to Ukrainian nationalists seems to be a response to the plaque to Marshal Zhukov that was recently broken in Kyiv, as well as the broken monuments to Soviet figures and heroes of the Second World War.
