Kyiv, February 28 (Navigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - Official Kyiv chose the candidacy of Sergei Kunitsyn as the representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea, since Kunitsyn enjoys authority and respect on the peninsula.
Deputy Irina Gerashchenko from the UDAR party, of which Kunitsyn is also a member, stated this on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada.

“It is obvious that the person who should represent the authorities in Crimea must be a Crimean who has authority and respect there. He is an Afghan, has very serious support in Afghan circles... They were the ones who stood in the forefront of the defense of the Maidan
Kunitsyn has excellent relations with the Tatars, who fiercely defend the sovereignty of Ukraine,” she said.
Gerashchenko promised that “every effort will be made to suppress separatist sentiments.”
In addition, she suggested paying attention to the fact that events in Crimea are unfolding on the eve of the new holiday season.
“Perhaps this is just a fight for tourist markets, so that our Crimea receives fewer tourists?” – said Gerashchenko.
