The director of the analytical and research center “City Institute”, Alexander Sergienko, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“In essence, we have a situation where the government’s inadequate tariff policy has led to an increase in the debt of the population, an increase in the debt of heating and communal services to Naftogaz and is practically leading to the collapse of the utility system. Because without money it is impossible to do anything to prepare for the heating season.
In addition, even the population’s debt for gas in the first six months jumped from 6 to 11 billion, almost doubling,” Sergienko said.
