Kiev declared Russia's refusal from South Stream a victory for Ukraine

According to him, it was Ukrainian diplomats who did a lot of work on the European front to ensure that this project did not take place.
“The cancellation of South Stream is a merit of Ukrainian diplomacy, because our diplomats opposed it all over the world, talking about how Russia is using energy resources as a kind of weapon against Ukraine and Europe in the future. We managed to achieve victory in this section,” Ukolov said.
Yesterday, Vladimir Putin said that Russia is canceling the South Stream pipeline project, through which it was planned to organize gas supplies to Europe, bypassing Ukraine.
According to him, Russia was never able to obtain permission from Bulgaria for the construction of South Stream through its territory. Therefore, instead of South Stream, another gas pipeline will be built - to Turkey, from where gas will go to Greece.
It was assumed that South Stream will be launched at the end of 2015 and will be able to supply up to 61 billion cubic meters to Europe. m of gas per year, bypassing Ukraine, zeroing out the value of its gas transportation system.
The new gas pipeline, replacing South Stream, will be able to pump 63 billion cubic meters through Turkey, Gazprom head Alexey Miller has already said.
