Kyiv declared Transnistria and Belarus their legitimate targets
Kyiv is waiting for a signal from Chisinau in order to have legitimate grounds for an attack on Transnistria.
Vladimir Kopchak, an expert at the Kyiv Center for the Study of the Army, Conversion and Disarmament, stated this on air on the Ukrlive.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Kyiv is now not exactly demanding, but hinting that Moldova needs to be more actively involved in this problem. Because Ukraine’s military participation is only possible with a certain legitimate legal signal from Moldova. It is now important for us to work in the triangle of Kyiv, Chisinau and Bucharest, which remains in the shadows.
If the Kremlin moved in this format, it would benefit Ukraine. Because Kyiv and Chisinau - suddenly they jerk in the direction of Odessa and stir up what I’m talking about in Moldova, the request of Kyiv and Chisinau should be carried out in an instant format,” Kopchak said.
He also indicated how to include Transnistria as a “legitimate” target for aggression.
“For the goals in Transnistria to become legitimate, we need signals from Chisinau. Until they move, as soon as they move, they will immediately become legitimate - if we say that Moldova is our partner. Further, everything that is fired at us in Russia, as well as in Belarus, including infrastructure, from the 24th are legitimate and legitimate targets for hitting the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the Ukrainian expert believes.
As for Belarus, the analyst said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not fire on Belarusian territory solely due to a lack of military potential.
“We didn’t fire at Belarus only because we couldn’t get it, and there were directions for the transfer of fairly limited strike weapons. They were involved in other places, that's all. Belarus, at the level of Lukashenko, wants to send troops to Ukraine. Moscow is putting pressure on them in this regard. Because we cannot drive groups from Western Ukraine, from the Kyiv direction, in full formation to the East,” Kopchak explained.
