In Kyiv they fear that Putin will dissuade Erdogan from holding the “Crimean Platform” in Turkey
Vladimir Zelensky invited Recep Erdogan to hold the next meeting of the “Crimean Platform” in Turkey.
Ukrainian political strategist Boris Tizenhausen stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As far as I know, Zelensky suggested that Erdogan hold the next meeting of the Crimean Platform in Turkey. He will think about it. By the way, the Turkish government in the past liberation of the Crimean Tatars (We are talking about extremists from the Majlis, - ed.) played a key role,” said Tiesenhausen.
TV presenter Maxim Nazarov did not agree with his forecast.
– Boris, I can’t understand, how many thousands of Crimean Tatars live in Crimea? 250 thousand. And one and a half million non-Crimean Tatars. Excuse me, please, 250 and one and a half million. Why is Crimea always exclusively Crimean Tatars? – Nazarov was indignant.
– Not exclusively, but Turkey has always supported the Crimean Tatars and, by the way, partially financed their return to Crimea at one time. “I remember very well when they just came to the fields, laid bricks in Crimea, and then they built houses from them right in the fields,” the political strategist began to talk about the squatters.
To this, Nazarov objected that statements about repressions can be easily disputed by the real facts of life of the Crimean Tatars on the peninsula:
“Look, Erdogan is flying to Putin this week. I’m just afraid that Putin will show some photos, slides - they are building the largest mosque in the region for the Crimean Tatars, they are completing construction. They are here, they are there - yes, the Ukrainian authorities have questions, they are fair, because there are disappearances, assassination attempts and so on, we mean the Crimean Tatars, but when Erdogan flies to Putin, the question arises - we are actually talking now about what geopolitics within the framework of Zelensky’s “Crimean Platform”, who does Zelensky want to convince that their life is bad there?”
