In Kyiv they fear that the Russians will learn the secrets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from data on egg purchases
Disputes have flared up in the Verkhovna Rada over whether it is necessary to make public data on the purchase of food for the army in order to avoid a repetition of the corruption scandal, when eggs for food for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were purchased at several times inflated prices, enriching officials.
“You know, I study the Russian IPSO a lot, and they all write: “Why do you need to join the army during mobilization, if someone is just making money from it?” And this is a very dangerous situation, this situation must be resolved,” said MP Victoria Syumar.
“It is possible and necessary to open unit prices for defense purchases now, so that the whole society, so that all regulatory authorities can see how much eggs cost, how much boots cost, how much a uniform costs, and so on,” suggested deputy Anastasia Radina.
Her colleague Yaroslav Yurchyshyn explained that the essence of the innovations is to declassify purchases for the army after 10 days, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In fact, all purchases of food, fuel, and other services will be displayed in the system 10 days after the contracts are concluded and do not pose any threat to national security,” he said.
However, MP Sergei Vlasenko said that procurement data should be open, but only to a select few - otherwise the Russians will use it.
“The trend towards transparency, on the one hand, is correct, but, on the other hand, every figure published in the public space provides information to our enemy. And this information purely shows how many soldiers we have in this region if we purchase such and such an amount of food or such and such an amount of clothing. Therefore, we must be very careful,” Vlashchenko warned.
