In Kyiv they fear that the United States will leave Ukraine alone with the war in Donbass
People in Kyiv are worried that the latest conversation between Trump and Poroshenko could lead to the United States abandoning active support for Ukraine and asking it to deal with its problems itself.

Such concerns were voiced at a press conference in Kyiv by military expert Mikhail Samus.
According to him, if Ukraine fails to restore “effective control” over Donbass in the near future, the West will refuse to support Kyiv.
“The new US administration may say: “Guys, sort it out yourself. If you are a strong state, internally, then you can clear these territories and establish your control there; if you cannot, then we will help you, for example, in negotiations between those who exercise effective control - the DPR and LPR, and the authorities in Kyiv. If you want, we can do it." By the way, the latest statement by the White House after negotiations with the Ukrainian president contains precisely such ambiguous messages that the White House will supposedly help establish peace on the border, but it is not clear with whom Ukraine is waging this conflict, since there is no mention of Russia not a word. And this can be interpreted that our uncertain internal situation with the occupation gives, among other things, the opportunity to our international partners not to call Russia an occupier and an aggressor. This could soon play a very cruel joke on us and lead to us finding ourselves alone, without international assistance,” Samus said.
