Kiev fears Europe will refuse Russian gas
European countries that refuse Russian gas are working against the Ukrainian gas transportation system.
This opinion is expressed on his Facebook page by Kiev political scientist Vladimir Volya.
“Everyone in Europe who reduces consumption of Russian gas is working to reduce Russian gas transit through Ukraine. Poland refuses Russian gas in favor of other gas, including American gas, and thereby deprives Ukraine of part of the transit. So Bulgaria is reducing its dependence on Russian gas, refocusing on its own production, supply through pipes from Azerbaijan and through terminals in Greece and Turkey,” writes the political scientist.
“It is impossible to maintain transit through Ukraine if the consumption of Russian gas in Europe decreases,” Volya sums up.
