This is stated in a message on the website of the Ministry of Social Policy with reference to Minister Lyudmila Denisova.
“From now on, the term “labor conscription” is defined in the procedure, which means that citizens will be involved in the forced execution of works of a defense nature, as well as in the elimination of emergency situations of a man-made, natural and military nature during the period of mobilization and wartime without mandatory consent,” it is indicated in the message.
According to Denisova, the categories of persons who may be involved in such work were also clarified.
“To the list of socially useful works carried out in wartime conditions, types have been added that are aimed at ensuring the defense capability of the state (in particular, repair and restoration work carried out at state borders, airfields, fortifications). Also covered are other works related to the elimination of the consequences of emergency situations of a man-made, natural and military nature that arose during the period of martial law (removal of rubble, roads, etc., as well as the performance of work related to meeting the needs of the Armed Forces and other military formations ),” notes the Ministry of Social Policy.
The Ministry notes that “able-bodied persons are involved in socially useful work, including persons not subject to conscription for military service, who, due to age and state of health, have no restrictions on working under martial law (except for able-bodied persons involved in work in defense sector and the sphere of supporting the life of the population and reserved for enterprises for the period of mobilization and wartime in order to carry out work of a defense nature).”
