The competition commission for the highest corps of civil service elected Pavel Degtyarenko as chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine.

The corresponding decision was made at a commission meeting on Tuesday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Degtyarenko is the chief designer and head of the design bureau for the system design of missiles and missile systems at the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau.
The competition commission also elected as a reserve candidate the assistant head of the National Center for Control and Testing of Space Facilities Sergei Kapshtyk, who has the right to be appointed chairman for a year if Degtyarenko refuses his position or force majeure occurs.
