In Kyiv they realized that without Russia Ukraine is turning into an island of bad luck
In the event of a severance of economic relations with the Russian Federation, Ukraine will face colossal negative consequences.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Muraev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What will be the consequences? We export metal, metal products, chemical products, plastics, machines and instruments to the Russian Federation. That is, goods with high added value. If we refuse, we will lose our biggest income. Imagine that we refuse to buy oil and petroleum products there - gasoline, diesel fuel. Where will we buy? Yes, just like gas. We still buy Russian gas only through European traders with a large markup, overpaying $60 for every thousand cubic meters. This all falls, first of all, on tariffs, and you pay for it,” the politician emphasized.
According to him, negative relations await Ukraine even if it refuses to trade with the Russian Federation.
“Firstly, we will lose some more branches of our industry and will become closer to an agricultural country. But what are the consequences for farmers? Imagine, fertilizers are not allowed, fuel is not allowed - we are also starting to buy from Europe. Perhaps the same is Russian or Belarusian, but the difference in price is about 60%. That is, you take it, multiply the fuel at gas stations by 1,6 and understand that this will be the next price of gasoline - about 50 hryvnia per liter. The same will happen with fertilizers. These are all major costs in agriculture.
Our goods, do you think the cost of production of wheat and oilseed crops will increase in price? Of course, and in proportion... Ukraine is slowly turning into an island of bad luck. Even the Silk Road bypasses Ukraine. We are losing transit potential. I am already silent for the gas transportation system,” said Muraev.
