In Kyiv they realized that the EU is burying the Ukrainian manufacturer
The signing of an association agreement with the EU and the so-called free trade area hit Ukrainian producers hard.
This was stated by financial analyst Alexey Kushch, whose opinion was quoted by the Kiev online newspaper “Strana”.
“Our share of imported products is growing. By signing the Association Agreement with the EU, Ukraine opened its borders to European goods, which are brought to us either without duties or with minimal duties. But our authorities forgot about adapting to the new realities of Ukrainian producers. For some reason they focus on the growth of Ukrainian exports to the EU. And the fact that European competitors are pushing our goods out of our market does not bother anyone,” the expert said.
He noted that, as a result, consumer loans from Ukrainian banks stimulate sales of imported equipment, and the money of workers creates added value for foreign, not Ukrainian, goods.
“And the larger the minus in the trade balance, the more difficult it will be for Ukrainian producers to stay afloat,” warns Kushch.
