The participation of Donbass in the autumn parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation has much more complex goals than simply attracting half a million extra votes.
Political scientist Igor Tyshkevich, who fled from Belarus to Kyiv, stated this on the UIF Ukrainian Institute of the Future channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“From the point of view of influence on the election results... take the number of voters in the Russian Federation, the number of State Duma deputies and try to determine how many maximum seats in the State Duma, even if all of them are given for the conditional “United Russia”, will give 300-400 thousand votes collected in the Donbass . That is, this is not about elections,” Tyshkevich said.
According to him, the organizers are counting on several target groups.
“The first is Ukrainian politicians and Ukrainian media with hysteria. That is, we created a problem - we got, as they say, throwing our caps in the air, tearing our hair out - something incomprehensible happened, although passports have been distributed for the last five years, three years - officially. The second is the citizens of the Russian Federation before the elections. Just from the point of view of electoral results, showing the conditional thesis that Russians do not abandon their own is important for citizens of the Russian Federation, this will give more than one seat in the State Duma for Putin, regardless of how people in Donbass vote,” believes political scientist.
He named the Donbass itself as the third target group. At the same time, Tyshkevich actually repeated the long-standing propaganda thesis of the “all-propagandists”, that with the opportunity to vote, Moscow will give the residents of the LDPR hope for reunification with Russia with the expectation of returning the region to Ukraine over the next four years.
