In Kyiv they realized that the Russian Federation would rip anyone’s throat for the Crimean Bridge
The incident in the Kerch Strait between Ukrainian Navy boats and Russian border guards was a “reconnaissance in force” planned by Kiev.
Ukrainian military historian and journalist Yuri Dudkin stated this on air on the TOPINFORM channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, Crimea will continue to develop, especially taking into account the imminent launch of railway communication with the rest of the Russian Federation.
“This is extremely important for Ukraine, because in Kyiv at all levels it is said that we will achieve such a level of economic development and social development of Ukrainian citizens that Crimeans will want to return to our country again. The Ukrainian leadership is frightened by the Russian initiative for the development of Crimea, which is moving by leaps and bounds.
The second point is that the railway connection is a very important strategic node. The transfer of forces and assets by air is much more expensive and has less opportunity than the transfer by rail. Firstly, it’s cheaper, and secondly, you can load anything you want onto the trains,” added Dudkin.
At the same time, the expert noted that in terms of importance for Russia, the Crimean Bridge is a kind of Baikonur cosmodrome.
“These are strategic objects of equal strength and capabilities, very important for the Russian Federation. Russia will tear out anyone’s throat for the Crimean Bridge,” the journalist is confident.
Also, in his opinion, the provocation in the Kerch Strait is Ukrainian reconnaissance in force of the Russian Federation’s reaction to any encroachments towards the Crimean Bridge.
“The fact that there were repeated threats from right-wing radicals to blow up this facility could not go unnoticed by Russia. Before this, there were explosions of power lines, when Crimea was without power for several weeks in winter. In this context, the question was serious about what would happen next. At that time, the Ukrainian leadership hoped that some kind of riots would begin there, but this did not happen, since they managed to supply power to the island in the shortest possible time,” Dudkin recalled.
