In Kyiv they realized: Despite Ukrainian threats, Russian Crimea will show a record turnout
Despite threats from Kyiv about criminal liability for Crimeans for participating in the Russian presidential elections, the peninsula will demonstrate a record turnout. Yusuf Kurkchi, First Deputy Minister for Issues of Occupied Territories, stated this on the air of the Black Sea TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The occupying country is trying to legalize its presence there by holding these elections, demonstrating some democratic instruments. On the other hand, this is a demonstration to the entire domestic electorate that this region is already integrated into Russia. It seems to me that the Kremlin will be of little interest in the percentage of participation in another territory in comparison with Crimea. They will do everything to ensure that the percentage of participation there is higher than the Russian average,” Kurkchi said.
