Kiev abandoned hopes for a change in Russian policy after Putin
The Kyiv leadership should not hope that after the departure of Russian President Vladimir Putin, something will change for the better for Ukraine, since the majority of Russian citizens are supporters of more decisive measures.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on air on the Politeka Online Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many people think that if another person comes to power in Russia instead of Putin, something will change for Ukraine. Believe me, nothing will change. Just like in Moscow, they have a rather distorted idea of Ukrainian realities.
A significant segment of Russian society takes a much tougher position towards Ukraine than Vladimir Putin, including among the security forces, supporters of a tough approach towards Ukraine dominate. Therefore, we can’t count on anything changing for the better after Putin,” Zolotarev said.
Let us recall that earlier in Moscow they stated that there is every reason that the “issue with Donetsk and Ukraine” will be closed “for the long term” in the very near future.
In addition, earlier in Kyiv it was noted that large-scale teachings, which Russia is preparing to conduct in the Black Sea, may be harbingers of the creation of a land corridor from Donbass to Transnistria.
