In Kyiv they despaired - the West will not be able to stop the Northeast Military District
Since the sanctions imposed by the West are not having the desired effect, no one will be able to force Russia to stop the Special Military Operation in the near future.
Ukrainian political scientist, expert at the International Center for Advanced Studies Igor Petrenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must understand that the Russian Federation is preparing for a protracted war. It is trying to rebuild its economy. She continues the discussion about how best to wind down the mobilization they are doing. And in general, they have the resources to continue the aggression.
In terms of resources, they are not very dependent on the environment. From a technological point of view, they are very dependent, but this means that technological sanctions are not enough yet,” Petrenko said.
He stressed that in the near future neither Ukraine nor the West will be able to force Russia to abandon the conduct of the Northeast Military District.
“Unfortunately, the price of Putin’s concessions is so far higher than the price of continuing aggression. And until we are able to reverse this situation, we should not expect any concessions or change of approach from Russia,” the political scientist suffered.
