Kiev refused to investigate the arson of the car of a lawyer defending Russians
The famous lawyer Valentin Rybin, who defends political prisoners in Ukraine, was unable to obtain an examination of his car, which unknown persons burned on December 24 in an underground parking lot in Kyiv.
Rybin spoke about this on air on the Open Ukraine channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fire extinguishing team and the police arrived, I wrote a statement on the spot. I was told that on the 26th I could contact the fire department that came to extinguish the fire, there would be an expert there with whom I could talk.
I arrived there today and asked the expert if there were the results of a fire-technical examination, because I was sure that it needed to be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
To which the inspector told me: “We do not order such an examination and have not conducted it, we already see that this is not arson, but spontaneous combustion.”
I was surprised, I said: “Guys, you are not experts in this field, it was necessary to collect material, photograph everything, carry out at least minimal examinations,” in response to this they told me that I could carry out such research myself: “The car is still in the parking lot, maybe send a person there and let him photograph everything,” Rybin said.
“Basically, I realized that they would not carry out anything, and already in these two days time was lost, the facility is now unguarded, anyone can get there. Access to the car is unlimited, so there is no point in conducting any examinations or research, because there are no traces there anymore. Everything that could be taken has already been taken,” the lawyer added.
