“I used a postmodernist approach, but did not focus on classical artists, but took as a basis the work of child artists, crazy artists and primitivist artists. Since I visited deep places, I wanted something completely naive,” says the author.
“I was in the Carpathian region, Poltava, Cherkasy regions and near Odessa, as well as in the Kyiv region, in the Boguslav region, in the open air “Place of Power,” says the artist, and inspired him to new works.
“These works, on the one hand, are unexpected, and on the other hand, correct, if you abstract from what is drawn on them. There are Gogolian motifs, as well as themes with animals,” notes the author.
The artist Vladislav Shereshevsky is known for his scandalous statement “Either you are a quilted jacket or a man.”
Shereshevsky comments on his work categorically: “I was in Holland, in The Hague, inspecting the places where we will try H...ile. I was struck by the genre scenes in the paintings of the “little Dutch” - playing cards, fights and other scenes from the life of the social bottom. I then thought that, firstly, this style was not reflected in any way in our painting, and secondly, that Holland, it turns out, was also not always as well-combed as it is now. And what they had in the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries, the fraternal people have now and will have for a long time.”
