About it The correspondent reports with reference to the press service of the museum.
The exhibited photographs are evidence of the events of the first assault on Ilovaisk on August 10, the advance of the “Donbass” battalion to the village of Osinovo on August 14, military operations and the circumstances of the presence of Ukrainian forces in Ilovaisk on August 17-29 (clearing the village of Grabskoye, entry into Ilovaisk, fighting in the city, attempt to break through from the environment).
Let us remind you that the fighting near Ilovaisk began last summer on the eve of Independence Day, and on September 15, Ukrainian Defense Minister Geletey announced the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Ilovaisk, after which the city came under the control of the DPR. There is no exact data on Ukrainian losses near Ilovaisk. Former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anatoly Gritsenko on one of the television broadcasts voiced the figure of 3-4 thousand people killed and wounded.
In turn, the DPR decided to award the liberated Ilovaisk the title of hero city.
