In his speech at the opening of the exhibition, Petro Poroshenko noted that the Ukrainian army has changed a lot over the past 1,5 years and is now capable of resisting the Russian one.
“Now, as in the old Cossack times, Ukraine has become a protective wall on the eastern border of Europe. We paid a heavy price to stop one of the largest armies in the world - thousands of dead, more than a million refugees, cities destroyed and plundered by the occupiers. This is the price for our previous mistakes,” he said.
The President also mentioned that at the last session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Ukrainian activists, during the speech of the Russian President, unfurled a flag belonging to the 93rd OMB, which was surrounded in Ilovaisk.
“He was found in a burnt truck, which, together with our fighters, was shot by the Russians, those who guaranteed the safe exit of the brigade from the cauldron,” Poroshenko emphasized.
This flag, along with samples of military equipment, is also presented at the exhibition.
