In Kyiv, at the Baikovo cemetery, a monument to actor Bogdan Stupka, who would have turned 75 today, was unveiled.
The monument at the grave is a bronze tree stump with roots sticking out to the sky. On the black podium are engraved images of Mortar in various theater and film roles.
As the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine explains, according to the Hutsul tradition, when a person was born, a tree was planted. And when he died, the tree was cut down and placed upside down. This was the case in his native village of Stupki in the Lviv region.
