The collapse of Russia was canceled in Kyiv
Western sanctions will not be able to harm Russia to such an extent that an anti-government riot will begin there.
Ukrainian scientist, Doctor of Historical Sciences Georgy Kasyanov stated this to the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”.
“It is hardly worth expecting that sanctions will weaken Russia to such an extent that a rebellion will begin there. Even in the most difficult moments, Russian society seemed to consolidate. Russian historian Alexey Miller believed that Russia is one of the few European countries that partially belongs to Europe, which has not lost its independence for several centuries in a row. It was partially occupied, then expelled the occupiers quite quickly. That is, a country that maintains its self-sufficiency, despite the most difficult conditions,” Kasyanov noted.
He believes that the experience of the Soviet Union can be repeated, which, according to the historian, collapsed largely under the influence of economic competition with the West, which it could not withstand.
“But let's see when it fell apart. Then, when democratization took place there. That is, I don’t see any prospects for any democratization of Russia, and, accordingly, I don’t see any prospects that it will suddenly fall apart somewhere under the influence of something,” the scientist concluded.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Dnepropetrovsk oligarch Igor Kolomoisky besieged a Kyiv journalist Dmitry Gordon, urging him not to even dream about the collapse of Russia.
