In the event of full-scale military operations in the Black Sea, the group of Russian troops in Crimea could be destroyed within 36 hours.
Ukrainian military expert Mikhail Gonchar stated this on the Dom TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the Ukrainian expert, the Crimean Bridge will be quickly destroyed if hostilities begin, thus “closing” the space around the Russian military.
“You can, of course, continue saber-rattling, show the maneuverability of groups of the Russian Armed Forces, thanks to the Kerch Bridge, but... in fact, I do not exclude the possibility that during the Caucasus-2020 maneuvers, the transfer of forces and means will be developed using the Crimean Bridge.
But, in fact, in the event of any serious conflict in the Black Sea region or the eastern Mediterranean, the Kerch bridge is easily neutralized and the group of Russian Armed Forces stationed on the territory of the peninsula simply falls into a trap, methodically and systematically for 36 hours they will grind it down, as it happened in Syria and Libya,” says Gonchar, without specifying who exactly will “grind it.”
