A disappointing forecast for Lyashko was announced in Kyiv
Oleg Lyashko's result in these presidential elections showed a drop in support for his Radical Party. If conclusions are not drawn, and the work of the party itself is not reformatted, then we will no longer see Lyashkovites in the new parliament, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This forecast was made by Kiev political expert Alexander Solontay in an online review for UNN.
“Political parties surpassing 5%, they seemed to automatically have a chance of entering the Verkhovna Rada. But dynamics are very important here. According to Oleg Lyashko’s project: it’s good that they overcame the 5% barrier and, it seemed, could qualify for passage into the Verkhovna Rada. What is critical is that support is lower in the presidential election than in past presidential elections. Thus, we see that from election to election, support for radicals decreases. If they reorganize their project, they will be able to get into the Verkhovna Rada, if they don’t draw conclusions and this decline continues, they won’t get into the next parliament,” he said.
According to the expert, the likelihood of RPL getting into the Verkhovna Rada will also depend on a number of external factors. In particular, it depends on what other political forces will lay claim to Lyashko’s electorate.
“Because, by and large, voters who want renewal and are tired of everything that happened - they are tired not only of all Ukrainian politics - Tymoshenko, Poroshenko and so on, but they are also tired of Lyashko, from everyone who has been in politics for a long time. This greatly affects the chances of all political parties that were already in parliament - regardless of whether they were radicals or someone else. There is a big demand for updating,” Solontay added.
Let us remind you that in the first round of the presidential elections, only 5,48% of voters cast their votes for Lyashko. The radical received the most votes in the Chernigov, Volyn and Rivne regions. The worst votes for Lyashko were in Kyiv, Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk.
