In Kyiv, terrible figures were announced about the state of the Antonov aircraft concern
The fixed assets of the Antonov state enterprise are worn out by almost 80% and need systemic updating, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by Antonov President Alexander Donets during a round table on aircraft manufacturing issues in Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“Currently the depreciation of our fixed assets is about 80%. Another five to seven years - and that’s it... I’d like to remind you: just a year ago we legally and physically merged with the serial plant, which was previously called “Name of the 50th Anniversary of October”. This huge enterprise was one of the largest in the USSR... This enterprise for a long time was not in very good, let’s say, financial condition. It is the bulk of its equipment and fixed assets that are in serious condition, being outdated,” said the president of the State Enterprise.
At the same time, Donets said that the production modernization program of the Antonov state enterprise for 2019-2022, developed jointly with the Ukrainian Research Institute of Aviation Technology, is already fully ready.
“You need a pretty big number there. Let’s try to get through to our legislators with this figure,” he noted.
State Enterprise "Antonov" is a leading Ukrainian developer and manufacturer of aircraft, a recognized world leader in the niche of transport aircraft for a wide range of purposes. By government decision, since 2015, the Antonov State Enterprise has been part of the Ukroboronprom state concern.
