People in Kyiv are panicking over the inability to prevent regular explosions of arsenals
Explosions at military warehouses in Ukraine are systematic, but the country's leadership has not drawn any conclusions.
Vladimir Volya, international affairs expert at the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, stated this in a commentary to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Unfortunately, the Ukrainian authorities have not learned any lessons from such incidents. The Ministry of Defense never brought order. After the last such incident in Kalinovka they demanded Muzhenko’s resignation, but she did not. And here you go - again the story with military warehouses. It turned out that nothing had changed at the Ministry of Defense. We can say that an incident at a specific facility is the responsibility of those persons entrusted with this facility. But when the same problems are repeated many times at different facilities, then we are talking about the responsibility of higher-ranking officials,” the expert is convinced.
“In any case, all this will hit the Ukrainian authorities. Even if we don’t talk about material damage, any such incidents at military facilities are damage to defense capability in the image sense. If such things happen deep in the territory controlled by government forces, then this says a lot about the leadership of the army and intelligence services, which should have taken preventive measures. This also affects the leadership of the state in a political sense. All this discredits the army leadership at various levels, the special services and the government as a whole,” Volya sums up.
