In Kyiv they are worried about how Sevastopol is doing without Ukrainian decentralization
In the bill on the decentralization of Ukraine prepared by the office of Vladimir Zelensky, there is not a single provision that would concern the special status of the city of Sevastopol in Crimea, which Kyiv still considers its own.
The former head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs, Anna Gopko, stated this on the ATR TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think the bill is imperfect. I collected signatures from various specialists under our appeal to the president to withdraw this option or exclude all articles that do not mention the city of Sevastopol...
We don't understand what this means. All international documents include the Autonomous Republic and the city of Sevastopol. There is not a single explanation why this city was removed, there is not a single explanation. This is illogical. It seems to me that this bill should be withdrawn. You didn't see any consultations when this was discussed. This is an important topic - decentralization. Federalization may come after it, and this is being done very quickly,” Gopko said.
